A PRIMER ON UNDERGROUND MUSIC FROM THE FORMER YUGOSLAVIA

In the spirit of Jim's occasional pointers toward blogs whose contents blow him away, I feel compelled to point you all toward the mindblowing Najpogodnije Mesto blog (well...except for one link below, which is at a higher bitrate elsewhere...). Covering a huge swath of worthy music from the former Yugoslavia (as well as just about everything else released there over the last 40 years), their link has been on our sidebar from nearly the beginning. That said, for anyone with no former knowledge of the scene, sifting through the description-free Najpogodnije Mesto and separating the wheat from the chaff can be a daunting and confusing task. Thus, I've compiled the following set of pointers toward the creme de la creme of the Yugo scene circa 1972-1980. This stuff has held my imagination in a death grip for the better part of a year now and far more folks need to be hepped to this glorious stuff.

Don't know about this particular case, but usually (or very often) 'remastered' just means compressed sound that sounds awful.

I might check those links anyway.

Igra is really a mutant sound: a real experimental music full of the strange atmosfere of the ending of seventies. Thanks forpost.
