Thanks for this, but now I'm a little confused... Considering the only Geinoh I've heard is what you've posted on your blog, I'm not sure what to make of this band. Is osorezan a good representation of their sound, or were they mostly a more traditional world music band and osorezan was just the psychelelic exception?
Osorezan is probably his most psychedelic one...but all his records are "out there " spaced out even with ethnic touches...besides Geinoh is mainly a soundtrack composer
Hi! Thanks for all the mutant sounds. Just wanted to pipe in with some info, namely that Geinoh Yamashirogumi (The Yamashiro Art Ensemble) is not a guy, but a group founded by Shoji Yamashiro that has a revolving membership of hundreds of people, many of which are not musicians.
Also, it's erroneous to say that they are primarily a soundtrack artist; the only soundtrack the group has composed was "Akira" for Otomo Katsuhiro's soundtrack of the same name.
Much of their work was very faithful emulation of various world musics with their own touch added when appropriate - "Chi no hibiki higashi Yuroppu o utau" was their take on east European choral music (think "La mystère des voix Bulgaires"), another one was traditional Japanese music based, etc. The live 2xLP that came out in 1978 is a real good one for those who liked the psychedelic style of "Osorezan", and if you liked the deep choral intensity of the Akira soundtrack, I highly recommend "Ecophony Rinne"...
I personally have loved all the albums I have heard thus far.
With the backlog of dead links accumulating with some frequency now, it's time for me to finally begin the long-overdue process of syste...

The last track in this is corrupt. Could you re-up it or somehow otherwise rectify the problem?
I mean the Genioh Hamashirogumi record, by the way. That's the one with the corrupt track.
Thanks, I would like to have so Nyumon. I am looking for it and do not find it
The cover can be found here:

Thanks for the upload, i was able to track some of the original cd's and bought them on eBay.
I managed so far to get 4 albums to Geinoh Yamashirogumi.
Thank you for this great music :)
Greetings from Tunisia ^^
