PRO POCIT JISTOTY-PROGRAM NO. III, LP, 1990, CZECHOSLOVAKIA

Wonderfully rude and ungainly sounding R.I.O.-ish art rock lurch and stammer in the patented Czech disident underground style that's extended all the way from the The Plastic People Of The Universe to currant day units like Uz Jsme Doma; a sound that in Pro Pocit Jistoty's piano pounding case comes closer to the Plastic People side of the equation and closer still to Jeste Jsme Se Nedohodli, whose marvellous album (posted be me a while back) was issued by the same label during the same year as this, so maybe they're connected? I dunno. Whatever the case, this is a not-to-be-missed slice of lost musical delirium.

Yes, this is a very weird and worthwhile album. Lots of Don Bradshaw-Leather piano pounding with Laibachian declamations on top. And more, much more.

Great post! Always on the lookout for anything along the lines of PPOTU etc. Some more current Czech madness can be found here: http://projectsiafu.blogspot.com/
