ELECTRO STATIC CAT-DYSTELEOLOGY, LP, 1986, CANADA
This severely underrated Canadian post-industrial unit (soon to evolve into Empirical Sleeping Consort) mates an exceedingly Nurse With Wound-like approach to surrealism to a Leichenschrei-era SPK dead chill in a seriously accomplished fashion. This one's stood the test of time far better than most others from this era. Top notch weirdity!

great find - thanks! another candaian act from this era that deserves a second life would be ...OF TANZ VICTIMS
I never thought I'd hear this ESC record again - brings back memories. The Empirical Sleeping Consort discs are prime ambient psychedelia too.
And yes, ...Of Tanz Victims 'Ostrova Novo Sibirsky' would be an excellent choice, though I'm not crazy about the more EBM records that preceded it. Some of the early tapes are pretty good though - I still pull out 'Metal Vampire' from time to time. Always reminds me of being in the old Bunker Records shop on St-Denis in Montreal in the 80's...
Looking forward to hearing this, as I think I passed it by back in the day. I second the call for some Of Tanz Victims also.
How about Nature Lovers- Beginning to End, or Operation Mindfuck by Wiggle Pig ? The former was on Cherry Red records, and the latter an independently released cassette. I don't remember the first very well, but Operation Mindfuck was a lot of fun.
Thanks for the uploads - keep 'em coming :-)
I just found the vinyl version of this record and I'm not sure if it is to be played at 45 rpm or 33. Does not say on the record and the sounds are ambiguous enough to work in either speed. Anyone?
Greetings from Finland!
I used to have this on vinyl back in the early 90's. Oh my, this brings memories. I sold the LP at some point, something which I have regretted. Luckily I still had it at least on c-tape. Thanks for the link to the package of mp3s, priceless.
This stuff has survived time very well... absolutely awesome stuff! Thanks for the post and link!
omnipotent1_99: I have this on vinyl, too (and met the lads behind it in Toronto many years ago; both worked hard to weird me out with their conversation, but were otherwise quite nice). I've always played it at 33, like the MP3s here; the voices in "distant blood" and "datur omnibus mori" (sample of a cover version of "White Christmas") sound correct at that speed.
I know it's been a number of years since this was posted. Any chance of getting an updated, working link?
